Fixing a hole in your drywall can seem daunting, as it usually requires specialist tools, materials, and experience. It can also be time-consuming, as you must cut the board to fit, install it, plaster it, and then wait for it to dry before sanding so it’s smooth and flush with the original wall. Once done, you need to finish the job with exceptional paint or wallpapering so it matches the rest of your wall.
If your drywall has been damaged, enlisting the help of a local handyman may be the best option. A handyman in Auckland on the Ezy Peazy platform will have the right tools to get the job done quickly and professionally. When they are finished, it will be hard to see that the drywall was even damaged!
Repairing drywall covers several scenarios, including fixing holes left by picture hooks, repairing cracks in the wall from your house settling over time, and replacing whole sections of drywall due to more extensive damage. In particular, water damage is often why you need a professional to repair your drywall.
The handymen you find on Ezy Peazy have experience helping in all of these scenarios and they will do a professional job every time, no matter how big or small. If it’s a hole that needs patching, they’ll have the correct type of filler, or, if it’s a more extensive drywall section they need to repair, they’ll know how much of the drywall to remove and what type of drywall product – like GIB Plasterboard – to replace it with. Finally, they’ll know exactly how to patch it, so it’s flush with the wall and ready for finishing.
To get a tidy finish, your Ezy Peazy handyman in Auckland will carefully sand back the area that’s been patched. They’ll usually use a sanding block or a power sander to smooth it and blend it into the rest of the wall.
Once it’s nice and smooth, they’ll clear away any dust or bits left behind, often with a quick wipe using a damp cloth. That way, the surface is clean and ready for paint. It’s a small but important step to make sure the final result looks sharp and seamless.
With the surface ready, the next step is matching the paint so the repair blends in properly. Your handyman will try to find the closest possible match, sometimes taking a small sample to places like Bunnings or Mitre 10 here in Auckland, to get it just right.
Once they’ve got the paint sorted, they’ll apply a primer first to help the paint stick. Then they’ll roll on the colour in light, even coats, adding more as needed, until it blends in and looks good as new.
In some instances, you may find you need a whole new section of drywall installed at your home or office. This could be for a new wardrobe or to divide up spaces in your home or business. This task requires more skill and experience than filling a hole in the wall.
Hanging new drywall in your home requires accurate measurements, buying the right size and type of drywall (such as GIB Plasterboard), cutting the drywall to size, and fixing it to the studs in the wall. You can find a handyman near you on Ezy Peazy who can provide professional drywall installation that’s built to last.
Find affordable and professional local handymen in Auckland for drywall repair services on Ezy Peazy. It’s convenient, safe, and easy to find a local tasker to help you fill holes and remove dents, so you get a professional finish on your wall.

There is a square sized dent/hole in our wall. It isn’t a full gaping hole yet, but would be maybe if you needed to repair it. Pretty sure it needs some gib or plasterboard but might be something that you’ll need to assess

Total of 4 minor drywall repairs, as shown in photos. Two are very small (around 5cm) one larger hole around 15cm, and a rectangular cut-out approx 50cm square. We have the removed rectangular panel if that helps. Also have matching paint on hand.
