Discovered a window frame in your home that needs repairing? Perhaps you’ve discovered a wooden frame that’s waterlogged, or even worse, has succumbed to dry rot. Maybe your aluminum joinery is warped, causing your window to become stuck or not shut properly.
Worried about the cost of fixing a window frame? Don’t be. With Ezy Peazy, it’s simple and affordable to find a local window frame repairer near you who can save you a world of stress by fixing, restoring or replacing your broken window frames.
Whether you’re in need of a simple fix for a window that’s become draughty or complete restoration for a window frame that’s fallen victim to wood borer beetles, Ezy Peazy has you covered.
Thanks to our extensive network of reliable Christchurch-based taskers, you’re only a few clicks away from professional window repair services – and a cozy, dry draught-free home!
If you’re not quite sure what’s causing your leaking window frame or draught in your home, you can book a friendly local tasker via Ezy Peazy to come out to you and complete an assessment. This will involve a thorough investigation to pinpoint the cause of your issue, including looking for signs of rot, water seepage, warping, cracks and corrosion. Once your assessment has been completed, they’ll provide you with a quote and recommend a course of action, giving you the flexibility to decide how you’d like to proceed.
Depending on the extent of the repairs required, your tasker may be able to complete the job then and there, or they might need to arrange a time to come back.
Wooden window frames can degrade for all sorts of reasons. If you live in an older home, your frames may have simply degraded over time, or your house may have shifted, causing cracks to appear.
Some of the worst enemies of wooden window frames include moisture seepage, water pooling, dry rot (a form of wood decay caused by a fungus that attacks and digests wood) and wood borer beetles. If your window frame issues have been caused by one of these scenarios, you may be looking at full or partial window frame replacement.
Not to worry. Taskers you hire via Ezy Peazy are skilled in all sorts of wooden window frame repairs and replacement – from minor fixes, such as simply filling small cracks, through to more extensive repairs, such as replacing a window frame that’s full of dry rot.
While aluminium frames aren’t susceptible to the same type of degradation as wooden window frames, they can still break down over time – especially if you live somewhere coastal, like New Brighton or Lyttleton, where salty sea air can cause more rapid corrosion. Expert window repairers available via Ezy Peazy will be able to quickly assess the extent of your window frame’s corrosion and advise you accordingly – whether that’s recommending minor repairs or a full frame replacement.
Noticed scratching, pits, dents, warping, or even cracks? Your friendly tasker will come to you equipped with the tools required to get your framing back to looking tip-top – and can check these issues out too. While they're at it, they can also help restore aluminium joinery around your frames, if this has been affected too.
Need more extensive structural repairs? Ezy Peazy can help you out with that too. Sometimes it simply isn’t possible to carry out repairs, and a full replacement might be recommended, but Ezy Peazy taskers will always prioritise salvaging your framing as the first port of call where possible.
If you’re worried about other framing and joinery that you think may be affected, don’t hesitate to ask your tasker to check this out for you too. For instance, perhaps you’ve noticed major water seepage and you’re worried this has affected the internal framing in your home’s walls.

We have a window with a cat flap installed in window. This is not in use and never will be but has caused this window sill to swell. Made from MDF we believe. In the bathroom the same is happening but not as bad yet. Varying other qualities throughout the house. We have just bought the house so dont have the ability to do a massive refit of windows etc. we are potentially looking at retro fit double glazing but they dont do the window sills. Looking for the best options and opinions on what do do next as we dont want these to get any worse and damage the house. Due date : Before Wed, 18th Dec Location: Hillsborough, Christchurch Thanks
