1. Clean Taps With Toothpaste


Toothpaste isn’t just good for keeping your teeth shining. It is great at restoring your taps and making them shine! Cover the tap with toothpaste and give it as crub. Wash away with water and your taps will be left sparkling.


2. Restore Tarnished Silver


Have you got some beautiful silver cutlery but never use it because it is tarnished? Here is an easy trick to restore your tarnished silver with ingredients you might already have at home.

Boil water in a small pot with a crumpled ball of aluminum foil. Turn the heat off and add 1tablespoon of baking soda. Next, drop in your silverware and leave for about 10 seconds. Remove with kitchen tongs and wipe clean.


3. Make Your Towels Fluffy Again


Skip the fabric softener and use white vinegar instead! Use white vinegar in place of fabric softener and your towels will be left soft and fluffy. It is also much more natural and cost-effective than buying fabric soften regularly.

Also, don’t worry, your towels won’t smell of vinegar!


4. Keep The Bottom Of Your Bin Smelling Fresh


Do you have an issue with leaky bin liners and smelly bins?

Place old newspaper underneath each new bin liner at the bottom of your bin. The newspaper will soak up any spills or liquids that end up in the rubbish which will prevent spills from leaking into the bottom of your bin.

Place a damp old sock over your hand and then run your hand along each of your blinds from one end to the other. By placing your thumb on the underside of the blind you can clean both sides at once.


6. Clean Fingerprints From Stainless Steel Surfaces


Add a few drops of olive oil to a cloth or a paper towel. Buff it into the surface of the stainless steel appliance to wipe away the greasy fingerprints.Remove any excess oil with a fresh cloth or paper towel.

7. Steam Clean Your Microwave In A Flash


For this, you will need a microwave-safe bowl, cold water and half a lemon.

Drop the lemon in the bowl of water and place it in the microwave. Let the microwave run for a few minutes at full power. The water and lemon will loosen any dried food splatters inside the microwave.

Once that is finished take out the bowl and wipe the inside of the microwave clean.


8. Remove Limescale From Your Shower head


Fill a plastic zip lock bag with white vinegar and tie the bag over your shower head with a hair tie or elastic band. Make sure that the shower head is fully submerged inside the vinegar.

Leave it for a few hours or overnight. Remove the bag and wipe clean to reveal a sparkling clean shower head!


9. Descale Your Kettle


Here is another cleaning hack that utilities white vinegar! Fill up your kettle with equal parts of white vinegar and cold water. Bring the kettle to a boil and then let it sit with the water and vinegar mixture overnight.

The next morning rinse and clean the inside well with water. Boil and rinse a few more times to get rid of any excess vinegar and limescale.


10. Use A Toothbrush and Toothpaste to Clean Shower Tile Grout


One of the most frustrating things when it comes to cleaning bathrooms is keeping the tile grout clean! This useful cleaning hack makes it much easier and is less toxic than regular bathroom cleaners.

Get some toothpaste and an old toothbrush and scrub into the shower grout. This will clean out the dirt and leave your tiles looking new.


11. Use Chalk To Clean Grease Stains


Grease stains can be incredibly stubborn and difficult to remove. This simple cleaning hack will get rid of those grease stains easily.

Get a stick of white chalk and rub it onto the stained area. Make sure that the grease is covered with a thick layer of chalk. Leave the chalk on the fabric over night so that it has time to absorb all the grease from the fabric.

The next day put the fabric through the wash like normal and it should come out grease stain-free!
