Above ground swimming pools are a popular choice for many homeowners due to their affordability, easy maintenance, and flexibility with installation. Compared to in-ground pools, above ground pools require less space and time to assemble, making them an ideal option for those with smaller sections or tight budgets. Additionally, above ground pools can be easily dismantled and relocated if necessary.
However, assembling an above ground pool comes with its own set of challenges. The process can be time-consuming and require specific tools and knowledge, especially if the pool is larger. Ensuring the pool is level and stable can be a tricky task, and proper maintenance is crucial to prevent leaks and other issues.
Before assembling your above-ground swimming pool, like a Bestway pool, it’s important to ensure the ground is level. If not, water may not be able to flow properly throughout the pool, causing pressure to build up on one side and leading to possible damage or even collapse.
To make sure the ground is even, assemblers use a level and measure the area where you will be assembling the pool. They then use spades, hole diggers, and other tools if it isn't level.
The base of your above-ground swimming pool is the most important part of the construction.
To ensure a structurally sound and leak-free above-ground swimming pool, the installers will properly prepare the base. They will begin by levelling the ground and clearing away any debris, vegetation, rocks, roots, or other objects that could damage the pool. After ensuring the ground is level, the assembler will spread a layer of sand for added cushioning against pressure.
Next, they will lay down a plastic tarp cut to fit the shape of the pool and secure it to the ground with landscaping nails. Finally, the assembler will install the necessary pool pieces for the base, carefully following the manufacturer's instructions.
The walls of an above-ground swimming pool are a key component in the assembly process, as they provide the structure and support for the pool and keep it from collapsing. Installers use the pre-measured wall panels to assemble the perimeter of the pool, ensuring each panel is securely attached to the ground. Once all the wall panels have been installed, they check for any gaps or spaces, then fill these to ensure a strong and sturdy wall.
Installing a pump and filter in an above-ground swimming pool, like a Bestway pool, involves choosing a suitable location for the equipment near the pool and ensuring the electrical supply is safe and adequate. Then, assemble the pump and filter according to the manufacturer's instructions and connect them using PVC piping and fittings.
If it’s not provided, choose a ladder that fits with your pool's height and shape and position it securely, ensuring it is level and stable. Attach any necessary safety features, such as a ladder pad, to prevent accidents. Next, choose a cover that fits the pool's size and shape, position it over the pool, then secure it with straps or anchors. Make sure the cover is taut and free of debris or standing water, which can damage the cover or the pool.
