Your bedroom is arguably the most important room in the house. It’s the room we love to spend the most time in. The bedroom is a place to unwind and relax after a tough day.

Your bedroom should be a calming sanctuary and not a bomb site! Unfortunately, the bedroom is also full of belongings which we have collected over a number of years. This combined with the fact that most of us are so busy, it is easy to let it go and end up with a complete cluttered mess fast.

Here are 12 simple tips to help get your bedroom tidy, organized and aesthetically pleasing. These tips will transform your bedroom into a place you will never want to leave!

1. Declutter!

Decluttering your room is the first thing you need to do to clean up your messy room. With our busy lives, it is so easy for clutter to take over every surface of your room as the days and weeks roll by.

Clutter is linked to depression, increases stress and can also have a negative impact on the quality of your sleep. Your bedroom is supposed to be a tranquil haven for you to relax and be at peace so there is no place for clutter in your bedroom!

Tackle that clutter ruthlessly and put everything in a place where it belongs. Train yourself to let go of attachment to things you don’t actually use or need.

Blast great music, get some big rubbish bags ready and go around your entire room putting papers and anything you don’t need in the bin. Put all your clothes in the laundry or away and remove anything that doesn’t belong in your bedroom.

Next, tackle your closet. Take absolutely everything out and get rid of anything you don’t always wear and love and arrange everything you choose to keep.

Organise what you want to donate and what to throw away, clean everything, make your bed and then figure out where you want to put everything away.

Guaranteed after this is all done you will feel incredible and your room will look amazing. Just make sure you keep on top of the clutter going forward!
