I have found a great set of single bed frames on Trade Me which are solid and made from American Oak. I would love to renovate them myself but realistically won’t be able look to get the time outside of kids and work. I will stain them but need help to prepare them. The listing mentions bora holes in the wood of the mattress base so we will need to assess it if we go ahead and get these beds. Ideally if the wood is too damaged you would be able to build a simple wood frame to replace the old one (happy to discuss time and materials if this becomes the case). The tasks: - Strip the white paint - Sand the wood ready for oiling - Remove fabric from mattress base - Treat and fill bora holes Not required: - oiling the frames - pick up and delivery (I will arrange) Ideally you will: - Have tools and experience with this type of job - Be able to build a simple wooden base if required (if condition of current mattress frame is poor) - Have a space of your own to renovate the bed frames in (I don’t live in Christchurch, I’m out of town) - Be able to complete the work in 4 weeks, by 1 June at the latest I’m excited to create a nice cosy bedroom for my kids, they’ve been through a lot in the last year so fingers crossed I can find someone to help me with this! Oil from the Natural Paint Co (extra safe for kids) so now I know that I wondered if possible to include oiling them in the $400?... Show more
